We spent the 4th of July just hanging around mostly. I got the kids all dressed so we could take pictures of them and then we dropped them off at Jeff's parents for a little bit. They hung out with Jamom and Jampa while me, Jeff, Chris Rosales, Chris and Kristie went to see The Hangover. I hadn't seen it yet but it was hilarious! We were dying laughing. Here they are in their cute little dressed and posing with their cousins, Alyssa and Lauryn, in their matching dresses..
After we picked the kids up we came and relaxed at home for a little while and got ready to go watch the fireworks. The weather started looking pretty nasty right as we were about to leave but praying the storm would pass and then the show would go on, we headed out the door. We lined up among the ten of thousands of people and waited and waited and waited. They finally announced that the show was cancelled because of high winds.. bummer! Thankfully, people were (illegally) shooting off while we were waiting so we got to see some. I was so glad we had taken them to Tye the night before (see last post) so they didn't miss fireworks all together.
It was funny watching them too.. Brylee loved it! She danced and ran and jumped and clapped and Braelyn (who had always loved them before) was a little more timid... she whined because they were so close to us but she eventually warmed up.
It was a fun day! Fourth of July has always been my favorite holiday.. just lots of fun and time with friends and family! And of course, we are so thankful for all the men and women who have died for our country and our freedom and for all those who are serving or have served in the military.
