On Friday, Uncle Stinky and Kristie got here which means my kids were jumping with joy! They love them so much and are spoiled rotten by the time they leave but we love it! We spent the afternoon at The Abilene State Park swimming. The kids had fun! They have a great kids pool that is shallow enough for me to sit and tan and the kids to run wild.. perfect :) We only stayed about two hours because it was so hot and the kids needed naps before our next activity.. :)
The plan was to go to the track and watch the races but by the time we had dinner and got everyone ready, they were about to close so we opted for another feat. We drove out to Tye, outside of Abilene, and watched their fireworks. They were great.. I wasn't expecting much since it's such a small town but it was actually a really impressive display. The kids were amazed, even feisty little Happy sat and watched :) We made it home really late and quickly hit the hay for my favorite day of the year coming the next morning... :)
